Treatment of HIV/AIDS is being implemented on the local power to control the HIV/AIDS in a short time to come.

Can Tho city, the Ministry of Health (Department of HIV/AIDS) in cooperation with the People’s committee of Can Tho province held  solemn opening of the treatment facility) in Ninh Kieu district and Cai Rang district.

On 25/06/2010, the opening ceremony involved representatives revolutionary vetarans in Can Tho city; Mr. Pham Thanh Van, deputy secretary of party committee, Mr To Minh Gioi. Vice Chairman City people; heads direct prevention and AIDS prevention and drug evils, prostitution City, leaders, representative of patients, branches and mas organzations at all levels of City, two District of cai Rang, Ninh Kieu district, the communes of two districts, representatives of patients and patient families.

Mr Chu Quoc An, Deputy Director of HIV/AIDS, Ministry of Health Pham Van Manh, head of intervention to prevent HIV transmission with experts of the Department of PEPFAR, USAID, UNAIDS, FHI has also participated in this event.

The opening launched two methadone treatment facility is a new effort of the government and people of Can Tho city in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The participants, patients and families with sick people are hoping this new effort, along with preventive measure, care and treatment of HIV/AIDS is ongoing strength in the province, Can Tho will control the HIV/AIDS is a short time to come.
