Reprorts at work conference in 2009 and 2010 deployment plan (project HIV/AIDS, Ministry of Health) showed that less than 1/3 provinces in the country and support inervention support HIV prevention.

According to survey results the level of knowledge of HIV ethnic minorities in 11 provinces where no intervention (such as Lai Chau), 0% of women know about HIV, while in those where was propaganda (as Yen Bai), 33.8% of women know about HIV.

Currently children under 15 are living with HIV tends to increase because more and more pregnant women are infected with HIV. Estimated, in 2012, Vietnam will have about 3750 children at this age have HIV. Meanwhile, only 40% of pregnant women infected wih HIV be treated with antiviral drugs.

Currently the world has about 36 million people infected with HIV. Southern Africa remains the most affected the number of HIV infection, accounting for 71% of new HIV cases worldwide.

According to caculation, every minute, world have more 9 people infected with HIV, and every 6 seconds a person dies from this disease. Age of HIV/AIDS at most 20-29 years old, mostly by injecting drug users and sex is not safe…
