On the talks took place 30/6 – 1/7 advice on participation and empowerment of PLHIV in the framework of ASIA (Asian Meeting on Regional Framework consultation on the Greater involvement of PLHIV and Empowerment)
With participants from 10 countries participating in ASEAN: Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Myanmar, Malaysia, Lao PRD, Indonesia, Cambdia, Brunei Darussalam, each country has two participants: 01 NCH network representatives, 01 representatives Department of HIV/AIDS.
Opening remarks to the conference and handed over the memorial for 10 countries participating in the ASEAN leaders in Thailand Ministry of Health Dr Siriwat Tiptaradot.
Over 2 days conference has been sharing information with other countries on GIPA, further promote the participation of the PLHIV on HIV/AIDS, the two countries on sharing the advantages and disadvantages in access treatment.
Over 2 days conference adopted the suggestions for the 4th statement of the ASEAN group action.
ASEAN meeting next year in Vietnam will discuss HIV in the workplace
En of the meeting agreed to the three priority issues for ASEAN:
- Active treatment
- Resource mobilization
- Reduce stigma and discrimination against PLHIV
