CARE International in Vietnam and the Vietnam Lawyers' Association (VLA) is working in cooperation to implement SUPPORTING LAW project (Legal aid support for people living with HIV (PLHIV) through improving knowledge of HIV and training for members of the VLA) funded by European Union. One of the project activities is providing FREE LEGAL CONSULTATION AND AID SERVICE for PLHIV or their relatives. This aims to increase capacity for the organizations of people living with HIV and legal aid agencies to improve legal response to incidences of discrimination in the project area and create a more enabling environment for the fulfillment of PLHIV's dignity and rights to freedom from discrimination. The service is provided in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Services have been provided directly by three Legal Aid and Consultancy Centers (LACCs) in Hanoi and HCM City under the VLA. The service, including legal consultation and aid at LACCs’ offices or mobile legal aid counseling service according to the need of client, is provided on principle “friendly, enthusiastically, responsibly, efficiently and in confidentiality”. There is wide range of legal scope covering almost all of aspects of life that clients have interest in., for example criminal law, civil law, procedural law, marriage and family, land and housing, environment, consumer protection employment, insurance, social policy, ect.
