People living with HIV should know

HIV does not mean AIDS. Since HIV turned into AIDS until a long time in many years. During that time infected people live healthy anf work to live normally. That person needs assistance just as evolution of AIDS. HIV infectets the body will have three trends:

  • Who carry HIV or that lasts for 10 years or so but still healthy and working normally if they change behavior, make nutrition and good exercise.
  • Or will develop AIDS within 5-7 years if left to natural evolution of HIV in the body.
  • Or will quickly turn into AIDS for a few years if they continue with other risk behavior (such as sharing needles when injecting, to continue having sex with many people…) that a person will face to transmit HIV to others, otherwise they will be infected with HIV from other people more or multiples or infection for HIV-infected activated rapudly produced in the body as quickly destroy the immune system and shorten her own life again.

When changes depending on conditions of AIDS medicines and patients care can live 1-5 years.

The current drug treatment only to treat opportinistic infections and slow the development process of the virus. A people living with HIV can spread HIV to their relatives through shared toothbrushes, razors, sex and unsafe injecting so during  the illness, patients should following principles:

  • Eat as much as possible.
  • Exercise and sport to promote health and avoid sadness, anxiety.
  • Rest when tired and to ensure enogh time to sleep.
  • Continue to work if able.
  • Implementation of safe sex (condom use sex)
  • Meet regulary with friends and family.
  • Not for blood and tissue.
  • No common use of needles and syringes wth others, use clean needles.
  • Pay attention to health issues, hear the advise of a physican to prevent the chance of infections.
  • Implementing measures for personal hygiene: brush your teeth everyday, change clothes washing. Especially improtant for women to hygiene during menstruation.
  • To reduce the trauma and anxiety.
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking.
  • No own medicine when otherwise indicated by the physician.
  • Not isolated from family and friends.

HIV prevention in everyday activities.

To prevent HIV transmission to people living with HIV should follow some simple guidelines:

  • Wash your hands with soap after changing mats, blakets, clothes dirty or after contact with body fluids of patients.
  • Cover the wound produce more.
  • If the patient is bleeding, it should  be quickly cleaned with sterile materials such as water javel while cleaning blood stains need to wear gloves (gloves can be used in daily activities), if no gloves must use paper or plastic. Always wash hands after cleaning with soap.
  • Wear gloves, or lined with paper, plastic bags to carry solied items. Keep beds, mats, clothes clean.

When washing clothes or bed sheets stained with blood or other body fluids should be noted:

  • Javel soaked with water during 20 minutes and then try to wash away.
  • Wash clothes separately from others in the family.
  • Washing with soap, squeezed dry, and fold as usual.
  • Do not mix the material with a skin puncture, do not share toothbrushes, razors, toothpicks and all that sharp objects can cause bleeding.

Why living with AIDS?

  • During the period no clinical symptoms, HIV is an ordinary laborer, still capable of contributing to family and society.
  • Maybe living with HIV/AIDS because HIV is not spread through casual contact.
  • HIV/AIDS but also easier to catch but easy to prevent. On the other hand, the spirit of living with AIDS in accordance with traditional tolerance, kindness and compassion of the people of Vietnam through thousands of years of history.
  • Spiritual Living with HIV/AIDS help people living with HIV/AIDS are treated fairly, and participate in preventive care, safety ans social aspects of health, race and economic development international society.

If  spouses are infected with HIV, the other can not be divorced?

  • Should not and is not necessary.
  • Do not divorce. The couple still live together due to the moral and gratitude hundred years and to maintain normal life in families of infected persons.
  • When sex should use condoms.
  • HIV positive woman should not have children because of her health (she quickly changes to AIDS and early death) and because future children will be infected during pregnancy, during delivery and during breastfeeding)
